FAQ - frequently asked questions

Why is it better not to give supplements based on mineral salts designed for humans (e.g. Polase) to dogs and cats?

Giving supplements based on mineral salts designed for humans to dogs and cats is not advisable for several reasons:

  • Differences in nutritional needs: Humans and dogs/cats have different nutritional needs. Supplements formulated for humans may contain doses of minerals and vitamins that are not suitable for dogs/cats and could lead to deficiencies or excesses that are dangerous for their health.
  • Risk of toxicity: Some minerals and vitamins, if taken in excess, can be toxic to dogs/cats.
  • Unsafe Ingredients: Human supplements may contain ingredients or additives that are unsafe for dogs, such as artificial sweeteners (e.g. xylitol), colors, or preservatives that may be toxic to dogs/cats.
  • Different absorption and metabolism: Dogs/cats may metabolize certain substances differently than humans. This means that a supplement that is safe and beneficial for a human may not be absorbed properly or may be metabolized into a form that is toxic to a dog/cat.
  • Dosage difficult to adjust: Human supplements are formulated based on dosages suitable for people with different body weights and metabolisms than dogs/cats. This makes it difficult to administer the correct dose to dogs/cats, increasing the risk of administering too high or too low a dose.

For these reasons, it is always better to use supplements specifically formulated for dogs/cats, following the instructions of a veterinarian, who can recommend the most suitable products and correct dosages to guarantee the health and well-being of the animal.

What makes DogoRehydro® different from other supplements for dogs and cats?
  • Complete formula: Contains a balanced complex of electrolytes, vitamins and other essential nutrients.
  • Ease of use: The palatable tablets are easily administered and divisible.
  • Specific Support: It is specifically formulated to maintain normal electrolyte levels and provide rapid energy.
Can DogoRehydro® be used in puppies?

Yes, DogoRehydro® can be used in puppies: Consult your veterinarian to determine the appropriate dose, based on your puppy’s weight and specific needs.

Why use DogoRehydro® for sporting dogs in cases of intense physical activity?

For correct restoration of the electrolytes!

In fact, sporting dogs often pant to regulate their body temperature, losing vital mineral salts. When dogs breathe rapidly (intense exercise, rapid breathing due to stress, anxiety, and heat) they lose a significant amount of water through evaporation from the lungs and mouth, which can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. DogoRehydro® helps restore lost electrolytes, thanks to its composition rich in potassium chloride, calcium carbonate, sodium chloride, and other mineral salts.

Why use DogoRehydro® in peaks of heat?

During periods of intense heat, dogs in particular are subject to a greater loss of fluids and mineral salts. DogoRehydro®, containing dextrose and an electrolyte complex, supports the maintenance of normal electrolyte levels, making them ideal for these conditions.

During sports competitions or intense physical activity, the need for mineral salts increases. DogoRehydro® is indicated as a daily supplement to provide the necessary support.

Why use DogoRehydro® following episodes of intense vomiting?

When vomiting occurs, animals lose fluids and electrolytes. DogoRehydro® is formulated to help replenish these essential elements, while also contributing to the rapid rehydration and overall recovery of the animal.

Why not use DogoRehydro® in case of diarrhea?

In case of diarrhea, it is preferable to use Lactoadapt Stop® since, in addition to stopping diarrhea, it also integrates the necessary mineral salts. Using both products at the same time, in this specific case, does not make sense, as Lactoadapt Stop® already satisfies the need for electrolytes. Instead, once the diarrhea has stopped, it is recommended to continue with LactoAdapt® to rebalance the intestinal flora.

Differences between DogoRehydro® and Lactoadapt Stop®:

DogoRehydro®: It is mainly formulated for the restoration of normal electrolyte levels, with ingredients such as dextrose, electrolyte complex, Vitamin B6 and B12.

Lactoadapt Stop®: It is formulated to stop diarrhea and simultaneously integrate lost mineral salts.

In summary, DogoRehydro® is indicated for sports dogs, active dogs, for dogs and cats in periods of intense heat and in situations of vomiting or difficulty retaining liquids, as it helps to rehydrate the animal and compensate for the loss of mineral salts due to excessive panting and sweating, while Lactoadapt Stop® is specifically formulated to manage episodes of diarrhea and integrate the mineral salts necessary in such cases.

Good digestion affects the health and functioning of the entire organism

Nutrition is essential for the health of the animal. Suitable foods should be introduced through food: what is physiological for the animal’s body. These foods are broken down  into micronutrients through the process of digestion where the food is digested into smaller molecules that the body can absorb and use. Digestion, in addition to being  a very important process, is also a process that constantly occurs in the animal’s body. Good digestion is important: to nourish the cells with all the necessary […]
