What happens if my dog/cat accidentally eats Soft Pad Butter?

Nothing serious, it clearly depends on the quantity ingested, in any case the product contains completely natural active ingredients (mango, coconut and shea butter) that are not toxic.
Eventually there may be a change in the consistency of the stool (softer) just like ingesting a tablespoon of olive oil or similar.
In either case we advise you to contact your veterinarian who knows your animal and will be able to advise you.
Difference between Soft Pad Butter and CortiAdapt gel

Soft Pad Butter is an extremely effective butter, rich in active ingredients (mango, coconut and shea butter) designed to protect the skin of our animal friends, from atmospheric agents and wear, indicated to prevent and keep the skin intact. Thanks to the use of natural moisturizing, emollient and softening active ingredients, it has an effective restorative and normalizing action on the skin, drastically reducing calluses, gives relief in case of cracking and abrasions, softening calluses from decubitus; it also acts to strengthen the resistance of the plantar pads.

Is it normal that Soft Pad Butter changes its color and consistency? Does this mean that the product is not good?

Color: It is possible that once you get Soft Pad Butter that is more yellow and next time it is whiter. We use natural substances and maybe once we use Mango butter that is more yellow so your product will be darker. Next time can be whiter.
Consistency: the consistency depends on the temperature. In the summer we advise you to put the product in the refrigerator for few minutes. Never leave the products exposed on the sunlight.
Soft Pad Butter can change its color, consistency and smell, while still leaving its properties and effectivness unchanged. The products contains no water, so it is considered self-preserving thanks to the fact that there is no water inside.
We advise you when using Soft Pad Butter to use clean and dry hands.
