Description

DOGO Digestive®

Nutrition is a fundamental aspect for every living being, modulating the diet in a balanced and varied way for your pet is the real secret of well-being and longevity, just as important is the correct digestion of ingested food (industrial or homemade); especially considering that the digestive phase in dogs and cats, as indeed in humans, is a highly complex process in which the organs must be perfectly coordinated and which requires several hours (on average between 24 and 36 for dogs and cats) for all these reasons Dogoteka has decided to formulate Dogo Digestive, an extremely innovative complementary feed, containing a series of active ingredients such as Mango, Magnolia, Anise, Gentian and Angelica archangelica which support and favor all stages of the delicate digestive process .

DogoDigestive contains active principles and carminative plants with digestive, anti spamodic, enzymatic and eupeptic action (the bitter principles favor gastric secretions).

MANGO (Mangifera indica L.)

Mango is indicated for those suffering from heaviness in the stomach because it contains some enzymes that promote digestion, especially proteins, of which (unusual characteristic for a fruit) it is particularly rich.

Mango has several qualities that make it excellent for digestive health. For example, it contains a group of digestive enzymes that can break down large food molecules so they can be easily absorbed. These enzymes can break down complex carbohydrates into sugars, such as glucose and maltose.

Mango fruits are natural sources of digestive enzymes such as protease and amylase, which help break down proteins and carbohydrates during digestion. These enzymes facilitate the digestion of nutrients and their absorption in the dog’s intestine, contributing to a better assimilation of food.

MAGNOLIA (Magnolia officinalis Rehder & Wilson)

Magnolia helps the digestive process, regulate gastrointestinal motility and rebalances the oral bacterial flora; it also helps the elimination of gases. Promotes the drainage of body fluids. It has antispasmodic action.

ANISE (Pimpinella anisum L.), GENTIAN (Gentiana lutea L.), ANGELICA (Angelica archangelica L.)

Anise, gentian and angelica are herbs known for their digestive and carminative properties, i.e. able to relieve gastrointestinal disorders such as flatulence, nausea and abdominal swelling. These herbs contain essential oils and active compounds that promote intestinal motility and bile secretion, contributing to better fat digestion and the reduction of intestinal inflammation.

ANISE (Pimpinella anisum L.)

Anise helps intestinal peristalsis and salivary secretion. Among the properties of anise is the digestive one, in fact the seeds, thanks to the anethole contained, counteract abdominal swelling, inhibit intestinal fermentation and flatulence by relaxing the smooth muscles of the intestine. It has a sedative and antispasmodic action against gaseous colic.

ANGELICA (Angelica archangelica L.) Angelica boasts digestive, tonic properties, it is a valid aid in case of difficult or slow digestion. Also useful in case of lack of appetite. It has a spasmolytic and eupeptic effect (said of any substance, above all bitter vegetables, which determines an increase in appetite, without causing other significant phenomena on the body).

GENTIAN (Gentiana lutea L.)

Gentian is used in various formulations to aid digestion, as it increases gastric motility and peptic hydrochloride secretion of the stomach, by direct action and by reflex mechanism (vagal stimulus).

Gentian is used to stimulate the appetite and to treat dyspeptic disorders, such as feelings of fullness and flatulence.

The gentian has proved to be very useful in the treatment of the aforementioned ailments, thanks to its high content of bitter substances. These substances, in fact, are capable of causing a stimulation of the taste receptors, the consequence of which consists in the increase in the secretion of saliva and in the increase in the secretion of gastric juices. All this, therefore, translates into an increase in appetite and an improvement in digestive processes and any dyspeptic disorders.

Furthermore, tonic and restorative properties are also attributed to the plant. Its anti-inflammatory, diuretic and protective power for the liver and digestive system is known.

In summary, the consumption of foods containing natural digestive enzymes and carminative herbs can benefit various stages of the digestive process in dogs, improving digestion and nutrient assimilation, and reducing gastrointestinal discomfort. However, it’s important to always consult your vet before making any significant changes to your dog’s diet.

BETAINE HCL

Betaine is a natural nutrient of the body, it intervenes together with other organs and helps to prevent coronary, muscular and associated diseases of the digestive system.

It supplies hydrochloric acid and is essential for the assimilation of vitamin B12, calcium and iron.

It collaborates in digestion by providing hydrochloric acid, necessary in the digestive process to break down proteins.

Avoid dehydration of cells by balancing the amount of water present. Collaborates in the transport of liquids throughout the body.

Heartburn, indigestion, bloating and reflux are often thought to be caused by excessive acid production. Instead, these symptoms are frequently connected to a lack of hydrochloric acid production in the stomach, the manifestations of which are identical to those of gastric hyperacidity.

Betaine HCL increases the levels of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which is necessary for proper digestion and assimilation of food nutrients. Normal levels of hydrochloric acid are required for complete digestion of proteins and absorption of amino acids. It is also necessary for the extraction of vitamin B12 from foods. Betaine HCL therefore helps us restore acid levels in the stomach and maintain proper gastrointestinal function.

FAQ - frequently asked questions

How long should I give the DogoDigestive?
+

DogoDigestive is a product that should be given until needed, that is until that

  • the dog continues to have digestive problems
  • as long as the animal has a benefit from using the product
  • as long as the animal continues to eat the industrial diet.

The active ingredients inside help the dog and cat to complete digestion correctly.

Who is Dogo Digestive indicated for?
+

Dogo Digestive is indicated whether your pet is fed with industrial or homemade food. It is a complementary feed designed for normal gastric function and is formulated with a series of active ingredients, many of which are natural, which accompany your pet in all delicate phases of digestive process.

How does Dogo DIGESTIVE behave in cases of hypo acidosis and hyper acidosis in dogs? Is it recommended to use or not?
+

Yes, in non-pathological cases the product can regulate the pH of gastric juices and help normalize the entire digestive process thanks to the presence within it of carminative plants and betaine chlorohydrate.

When is it recommended to take Dogo Digestive?
+

We recommend taking it immediately before meals, to accompany the entire digestive process.

If my dog eats multiple meals a day, how should I administer the daily dose of DogoDigestive to my dog?
+

Dogo Digestive is a complementary feed for dogs and cats for normal gastric function.

Since it supports your pet in all phases of the digestive process, we recommend taking it before main meals (if possible half an hour before, since it helps regulate stomach acidity).

Example: if your dog eats twice a day and weighs 18 kg it should take two tablets throughout the day (according to the dosage schedule on the box), it is therefore suggested to administer one tablet before each meal, to obtain maximum benefits from the product.

Why is Dogo Digestive particularly suitable if your dog is fed on industrial food (dry or wet?)
+

If your pet eats mostly commercially processed foods such as kibble or canned food, even if the rations are designed and balanced specifically for animals, there is a good possibility that it is not getting all the enzymes it may need as processed foods lack digestive enzymes, which are instead present in fresh foods.

While your pet’s body may produce some of the enzymes needed to digest food, it always relies on the enzymes naturally present in fresh food to aid in optimal digestion.

Digestive enzymes are nutrients that can contribute to many biochemical reactions of the body and are present in large quantities in many fresh foods, as well as being naturally produced.

Usually the activity of the stomach, intestines, liver and pancreas manages to provide the right enzymatic contribution to carry out the various organic functions, but sometimes the mechanism gets jammed.

Consuming certain foods rich in natural digestive enzymes helps rebalance the sufficient amount to the body to improve digestive processes, giving a new balance, but this is not always possible or indicated in large quantities in the diet of dogs and cats.

Additionally for highly processed diets such as kibble that is high in starches and carbohydrates, including rice, ancient grains, potatoes or legumes, your pet needs a specialized digestive enzyme formula that can handle the heavy carbohydrate load.

In addition to a diet based on refined foods, even a stressful period or a food intolerance they can lead to a lack of digestive enzymes or difficult digestive activity.

For all these reasons, we recommend adding Dogo Digestive to your diet.

What does Dogo Digestive contain? And how do the natural active ingredients contained within it help the digestive process in dogs and cats?
+

Dogo Digestive, an extremely innovative complementary feed, containing a series of active ingredients such as Mango, Magnolia, Anise, Gentian and Angelica which support and favor all stages of the delicate digestive process. Here are some functions of these natural active ingredients:

The enzymes present in mango help promote efficient digestion.

These enzymes facilitate the digestion of nutrients and their absorption in the dog’s or cat’s intestines, contributing to a better assimilation of food.

Magnolia supports the digestive function and has an antispasmodic action.

Anise, gentian and angelica are instead herbs known for their digestive and carminative properties,

that is able to relieve gastrointestinal disorders such as flatulence, nausea and abdominal swelling. These herbs contain essential oils and active compounds that promote intestinal motility and the secretion of bile, contributing to a better digestion of fats and the reduction of intestinal inflammation.

In summary, the consumption of foods containing natural digestive enzymes and carminative herbs can promote the stages in the digestive process of dogs and cats, improving digestion and assimilation of nutrients, and reducing gastrointestinal discomfort. However, it’s important to always consult your vet before making any significant changes to your pet’s diet.

My dog is allergic to chicken. You can use Dogoteka products which contain hydrolyzed chicken proteins (hydrolyzed animal proteins from poultry liver)?
+

The answer is YES, IN COMPLETE SAFETY.
Hydrolyzed chicken liver proteins are obtained from a treatment (Hydrolysis) of proteins aimed at reducing them to their smaller constituents (amino acids). The term “hydrolyzed proteins”, which is the wording to be used under the regulatory profile, can generate interpretative doubts because in practice the hydrolyzed proteins are amino acids. Hydrolysis (which is a kind of predigestion) is the process that breaks through heat, pressure or enzymatic reactions the peptide bond that holds the amino acids together to form proteins. Thus complex proteins are broken down into more or less long chains of amino acids (which no longer have the structure of proteins), up to the amino acids, the basic units. These amino acids are not recognized by the animal’s body as allergens, because the structure is completely different from the initial one, so they can be used as food in animals that have problems with the undigested (non-hydrolyzed) proteins of that food.

Accidental ingestion of whole product packaging
+

We remind you that it is good practice to keep the unopened package away from the reach of children and animals, as indicated in the warnings on labels and boxes. The greatest risk in the event that a dog ingests the entire contents of the package is that it may in a hurry swallow pieces of plastic, much more harmful than the active ingredients contained in the product. However, given the variability of the subject with respect to body weight, breed and age, the advice we would like to give is to consult your veterinarian who will be able to assess the situation from time to time by knowing the dog thoroughly.

Good digestion affects the health and functioning of the entire organism

Nutrition is essential for the health of the animal. Suitable foods should be introduced through food: what is physiological for the animal’s body. These foods are broken down  into micronutrients through the process of digestion where the food is digested into smaller molecules that the body can absorb and use. Digestion, in addition to being  a very important process, is also a process that constantly occurs in the animal’s body. Good digestion is important: to nourish the cells with all the necessary […]
